Ock (L) and Oeke (R) settle in
Oeke is a lovely filly.
Be sure to see her photo gallery.
Here she is at 1 year (June 2005)

Oeke (pronounced like "look-uh", but with no L. This is the Friesian word for "sweetheart") is by the Folkert son Weird. Oeke's mother is Annabet, star daughter of preferent mare Frearckje and the fiery stallion Tsjerk. Oeke is smart and friendly, with the compact size one expects from Tsjerk. Oeke was a second premie at her weanling keuring. The name Oeke is a little difficult for Americans to say, so sometimes we call her Abby. She is Annabet's Baby - AB - Abby. Get it? Oeke is the first friesian purchased by our daughter Carole, shown here. Another happy Friesian owner as part of Tanbark Acres!

Welcome Ock, imported from the Netherlands in October 2004.

What's New - Summer 2005

Oeke is now starting her 2nd year and we are beginning to teach her more things. She is starting to ground drive and work in the round pen. She is blossoming onto a lovely filly with a long arching neck and powerful yet floating movement. We're very excited about her progress.
