Ficus (Mintse 384 x Wierd 409) has a royal pedigree. His father is former world champion Mintse 384. His mother is Oeke, ster, from one of the best mare breeders in all of the Netherlands. Ficus' damsire, Wierd 409, is winning everything as a show driving stallion in Friesland. And his grand damsire, Tsjerk 328, was named Preferent stallion last year - one of only two living Preferent stallions.
But not everything has been roses for Ficus. The night he was born his momma died of internal bleeding caused during foalbirth (read more about that here and here). He was nursed by a nursemare from Kentucky and after 4 months he was weaned. Our alpha mare Hiltje adopted him and started teaching him manners. He is doing just great as part of the herd.
In September 2009 Ficus went to his weanling keuring and was awarded 2nd premie and got a 7.5 on his trot - a huge score!
