Dahlia (star) x Wander 352

Keuring 2006: 1st Premie, Champion Filly
Sorry, Tara is not for sale at this time, but you can see a quick photo gallery here
A video at 4 months. This is a very sweet and well-behaved filly. We like her very much and think she will remain easy to train and a pleasure to be around.

What type of foal are we looking for in this match
  • Show presense, movement. As could be guessed with both Thomas and Tsjerk blood in her, Dahlia has some of the best natural movement we have ever seen. Though easy to train and handle, when working she has the unmistakable spark and flair of a dynamic showhorse. Wander adds a light, airy touch to the movement and a regal stature to the conformation.

  • Best bloodlines you can find. Dahlia is a star mare and her lineage is amazing. In the past 4 generations alone she has two model mares and two preferent ancestors on the dam side. Her papers are unbroken all the way back to 1948. Wander is equally impressive. He is fully approved on offspring and has an approved son - Doaitsen 420. In addition, the Wander bloodline is one of the most desired lines to cross with today. His son Doaitsen, residing in the Netherlands, was one of the top 3 most popular breeding stallions in 2005. Folks are looking for that bloodline.

  • Improved height, longer lines, more mane. Dahlia is a baroque mare, small in size and powerful in build. We are looking to Wander to add height, airy movement and some of that magnificent hair of his.

  • Low inbreeding coeffcient. The inbreeding for this pair is amazingly low - less than 2%

What are we expecting with this foal?

Of course, one never knows exactly how a foal will turn out, but here is what we expect. The foal should be an impressive mover with lots of spirit, intellect, independence and pizazz. From a performance perspective, the foal should grow into a top class show horse in carriage driving or saddleseat. S/he will have a good nature and a fine intellect for dressage. S/he will therefore easy to train, but will probably bloom with an experienced equestrian/trainer (likely someone used to dealing with dressage stallions, for example). If the foal is a female she will have the genes to be one of the best breeding mares in the US and an A+ addition to any breeding stable.

This is what we are breeding for. But of course, ya never know.
